Here's a little circulated news item courtesy of my buddy D-Rock, who goes by the name Winston Smith over at the High Times Dick Cheney Blog message boards.

"WASHINGTON (April 9) A rare television appearance today by US Vice President Dick Cheney was met with skepticism, as it has been assumed that poor health would preclude his ability to make a public statement. Some have speculated that the Supreme Court-appointed official could have died long ago, while the White House periodically releases statements attributed to the politician.

American political dissidents will continue to make voice analysis of the videotape, in an attempt to determine if the broadcast was genuine, or whether a body double was used. Administration officials were quoted on condition of anonymity, as saying "Dick is fine."

Critics countered the ambiguous nature of the statement, noting that most women would agree that dick is fine, but they are still unconvinced regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Cheney. While the broadcast appears to be genuine, many have voiced their concern that the administration may have prepared tapes in advance, to be broadcast at a later date.

A press release from the White House asked news organizations "to refrain from referring to the Vice President as "Dick" because Mr. Cheney never knows if he is being insulted or not."

In other news, Edwin Starr is still dead, the Dixie Chicks might as well be dead, and the fate of Saddam Hussein is still unknown."

Here's another 96 Americans killed by George Bush. If this keeps up, he'll match his record as the former Texecutioner.

It figures Freepers would lament a ban on cross burning:

This decision proves that members of the SC are just as much influenced by the pressures of conformity as any other group. The decision is logical nonsense and I am really disappointed in Scalia. I thought he was one who made decisions based on accurate thought rather than emotion. If they can make burning a cross a crime they can make absolutely anything a crime. All that is required is that there be enough political pressure.

Funny, a constitutional ban on flag burning doesn't seem to have the same chilling effect for many of these folks. I wonder why?

Something tells me that this story won't be appearing on a lot of American news outlets.

Excerpt: Many Iraqis are already suspicious of US motives for invading their country and hostile to US support for Israel, whatever their opinions of their own government. No matter what the outcome of this war, families of dead and injured civilians may find it difficult to forgive.

Meanwhile on Faux News, Iraqi civilians are invisible until they materialize to wave American flags and throw flowers at their alleged coalition liberators.
