I'm writing about San Antonio. I grew up there, and thus was fingered to write the publication's Travel feature this month, which coincedentally enough was about San Antonio. I like the city. It's one of the most
beautiful cities I've ever seen, but I may be biased because I grew up there.
I would probably live there, if it weren't full of Texans.
Hmmm. Still can't get the image tag work. WTF? Is there some new stricture against linking to images outside of blogger.com, or have I gone stupid? Must check to see if other bloggers are displaying pix...
So while I was looking for stuff about San Antonio, I stumbled across Pineapple-Girl. She's a Texas girl (or "Southern girl-child" as Beverly Lowry might put it) who can write so vividly about Texas food and culture you can almost smell the barbecue. Make sure to see part two, so you don't miss Ode to a Taquito.
I saw this
link over at
Xoverboard.com. It's a revealing look at how the mainstream press underplayed the antiwar protests of Jan 21.
